BASIC OBEDIENCE CLASSES
Class limited to 10

NOTE: If you have a dog that is aggressive around other dogs or people, please speak with the Training Director or Training Secretary before enrolling.

PUPPY KINDERGARTEN (for dogs, ten weeks to five months old)
This class encourages social skills with other puppies and with people, teaching basic manners (sit, down, come when called). Instructors discuss housebreaking, crate trainnig, grooming and behavior problems. Puppies get to negotiate puppy-sized agility obstacles. Puppies should wear a plain collar unless otherwise advised by instructor.

AKC PUPPY S.T.A.R. PROGRAM (for dogs 10 weeks to 5 months)
The AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is an exciting new program designed to get dog owners and their puppies off to a good start. At the end of the 6 week class your instructor will administer the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy test. Upon passing the test, you'll get an application to send to AKCŪ for enrollment in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program and receive the AKC S.T.A.R PUPPY MEDAL. All dogs are welcome to participate in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program including purebreds and mixed breeds.

BEGINNER OBEDIENCE (for dogs five months of age and over)
This class covers teaching a dog to sit, stay, down, come, and walking politely on leash. Discussions cover housebreaking, crate training, grooming, and behavior problems.

CANINE GOOD CITIZEN (CGC)(for graduates of Beginner Obedience class)
This class offers more practice in the skills learned in Puppy and Beginner class and helps dogs learn to behave in social situations. The AKC Canine Good Citizen test is given the final week and dogs may earn the AKC sponsored CGC certificate.
